Wander at leisure through the fine arts fair in Mechelen

Mechelen Nekkerhal has been taken over by 85 galleries which have set up for this year’s Eurantica Fine Art Fair.  Opened on the 18th March 2017 the Fair runs until the 26th March.  Jewellery, modern art, vintage design, historical paintings and the eclectic – are readily available.
The fair is now in its 36th edition and is the second time it has been held in Mechelen.  Whether you are starting out in the world of antiques, an art dealer, interior designer or an avid collector there are items suited for all tastes.  With around 50% of antiques, 40% modern contemporary art and design and 10% of ethnic art the selection is diverse.

The fair has a reputation for sophistication and provides close-up exposure to a wide variety of periods and regions in the World.  Whether you are a fan of Netsuke or the iconic Delvaux bags from Belgium you can be sure to find something of interest.  With over 60% of galleries from Belgium and the other 40% coming from Europe diversity, excellence and authenticity are key!
All pieces presented at the Fine Art Fair are verified prior to the opening of the fair by over 30 independent Belgian and Foreign experts with varied specialties.  Throughout the day these experts regularly check the exhibitions to ensure they correspond to the authenticity criteria of the fair and match with what their identification card states.   Potential buyers can also speak with the experts and they will provide a certificate of authenticity.

There are also Art Talks held throughout the coming week at the Fair, including art historian Gilles Marquenie and Ghent University Professor Samuel Mareel as curator for Mechelen’s new Hof van Busleyden museum.
