Consider Mechelen when visiting Flanders

Considering that Summer is approaching – we are now the beginning of June 2017, why not make a plan, to explore a new part of Belgium.

Whether you are a Belgium or across from one of the borders of Belgium, why not consider exploring other areas of Flanders. Mechelen or Malines is a City to add to your list. Not just because I live here (and I am not being biased either), it actually has a lot to deliver historically, for foodies, diverse shopping or even those on a pilgrimage.  It also provides a tasty beer or two and for those Gin or Whisky drinkers – yep we have Mechelen Gin and Whisky (and you can visit the Distillery if you wish to explore the origins of Jenever and Whisky).

So whilst you are planning your visit, here is 1 example of a Hotel in Mechelen. I have not stayed at Elisabeth Hotel, though I do know that they are located in the center and close to all shops and places to visit.  If you do book a room get in touch and let me know what you thought!

Elisabeth Hotel

Hotel Elisabeth is a former Hospital dating from the Inter-war Period. It has been respectively transformed in keeping with the existing architecture to a modern four-star Hotel.

It is situated less than 200m walking distance from the heart of Mechelen city and offers 62 stylish and contemporary designed rooms.  These rooms provide maximum comfort for guests traveling on business or those wishing to explore the unique Historical City.  With a selection of room types – Classic, Deluxe, Executive and Triple.  A Classic room starts at €55 and the Triple starts at €85.

Welcome to your room.                                                                                  Photo courtesy of Elisabeth Hotel

Keep an eye out for the bright coloured circular light (you can see at night) which juts out from the building of the Hotel.
